Dragon NaturallySpeaking 9 is awesome! I just purchased this software to use at work and it’s fantastic! Basically it’s speech recognition software that transcribes as you dictate. In fact I’m dictating this post right now using the software. It’s the coolest thing! I’m surprised that it can actually transcribe at the same speed that I speak. In fact, it seems to work better if you say a complete sentence all at once. I purchased the Standard Edition, which seems to do just about everything I need. It only cost $99 and I even found a promo on the Internet which saved me $10. I would recommend this software to anyone who spends a lot of time typing. I just wish I knew about this two years ago when I started doing technical support at DreamHost.com. I’ve basically type about eight hours a day. This software could save me from getting carpal tunnel syndrome. In fact, I don’t even know how to spell carpal tunnel syndrome, the software spells it for me. Isn’t that fantastic?! It even knows how to spell “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”. I don’t think I would even try to spell that.

Are you using Skype yet! No! What, are you nuts? It’s awesome! You can call any other Skype users over the Internet, anywhere in the world, for free! You can also use “SkypeOut” to make calls to regular phones and cell-phones for practically nothing! Internationally no one’s got cheaper rates. My wife and I use it to call Germany all the time (from Los Angeles). You can also dump your regular phone and use Skype to get in-bound calls too! That feature is called “SkypeIn” and it’s pretty cheap too. You can also get local phone numbers in many different places so your friends (or whoever) can make local calls to reach you where ever you are! Check it out!
